Visa

International delegates arriving from outside the European Union may need a visa. Please make sure that you ask for a visa permit in time.

To assist you in obtaining a visa, a letter of invitation is available when registering for the conference. This letter is not a commitment on the part of the organisers to provide any financial support. NB: the letter of invitation will be sent after a successful payment. If you need an invitation letter please contact the Conference Organisers.

Language

The official language of the conference is English and all online and printed materials will be in English.

Climate

In May, the weather in Manchester can be varied, with average temperatures between 7-15⁰C. View a five day weather forecast .

Electricity

UK power sockets deliver an average voltage of 230v. UK appliances are fitted with three-pin plugs that can be connected to the UK mains supply through wall sockets. Unlike the sockets in many other countries, these have a switch to turn the power supply on and off – make sure you’ve turned it on if you’re trying to charge your appliance!

Currency

The currency used in the UK is the British Pound. There are ATMs widely available for cash withdrawal around the city. Credit cards are also accepted at most hotels, restaurants and shops.

Business hours

Most government offices, private companies and banks are open between 9:00 and 17:00 hrs and closed on weekends. Most shops in Manchester are open from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs every day.

Tipping

While tipping is common, it is not expected. However, leaving a 5 to 10% tip is acceptable in restaurants, bars and pubs.

Insurance

We advise participants to get adequate travel, health and accident insurance before leaving their respective countries. BMLA and Azura Events as organisers cannot accept responsibility for personal injuries, or loss of, or damage to private property belongings to the conference participants.
